About Me

More about me

Hello and welcome! I’m Jane Bramley, an artist with a lifelong love for drawing and painting. From the time I could hold a pencil, I was sketching the world around me. But it wasn’t until I retired that I truly found the time and space to dive deeper into my creative side—and what a journey it’s been.

These days, I primarily work with coloured pencils, a medium that has completely captured my heart. I’m drawn to the precision, richness, and softness they offer, and I love the way they allow me to bring out the fine details in fur, feathers, and expressive eyes. I’ve also explored acrylic painting and pastel pencils, and enjoy mixing things up when inspiration strikes.

Art started out as a hobby, but over time it’s become much more than that. It’s now a huge part of my daily life—something that brings me peace, focus, and a sense of accomplishment. It’s helped me navigate challenges with my mental health and other disabilities, and has truly become a source of healing and joy.

I’m most inspired by animals—especially horses, who have always held a special place in my heart. There’s something deeply rewarding about capturing the soul of an animal on paper. I also take on pet portrait commissions, which offer a wonderful opportunity to connect with people through their beloved companions.

I live in the UK with my wonderfully supportive husband, who is endlessly patient with my growing collection of art supplies. Our son is grown now, but he continues to be my biggest critic—and, thankfully, my most honest one too!

If you’d like to see more of my work, feel free to explore my Facebook page, where I regularly post new pieces and share a bit of the behind-the-scenes process. I’m also working toward building this website into a hub where you can view galleries, request commissions, and follow along with my artistic journey.

Thank you for stopping by—it means the world to me!
